Redundancy

Redundancy

Maintaining additional copies or resources so data and services remain available after a failure.

Storage providers distribute data across multiple drives, systems, or locations to reduce reliance on any single component. CDNs similarly use multiple servers so another can respond if one becomes unavailable.

‍

Multi-cloud strategies add redundancy across independently operated providers and networks. Redundancy improves resilience, but it should be combined with tested backups because duplicated data can still be corrupted or deleted.
