A service that keeps selected files and folders consistent across multiple devices or users.
When a file is added or changed, the sync service propagates the change to the other connected devices. This makes cloud sync useful for collaboration, file sharing, and access from different locations.
Synchronization is not a substitute for backup because unwanted changes can also propagate. If a user deletes a file or ransomware encrypts it, the synced deletion or corrupted version may replace the usable copies elsewhere.
