A defined set of instructions that allows applications and cloud services to communicate.
Cloud storage APIs specify the operations software can request, such as uploading, downloading, listing, copying, or deleting objects. They allow developers to connect applications directly to storage without relying on a provider’s graphical interface.
APIs also enable integrations between cloud storage, backup software, media applications, and other services. Public APIs are broadly available, partner APIs are shared with approved organizations, and internal APIs are restricted to a single organization.
