Cache Hit Ratio

Cache Hit Ratio

The proportion of requests served from a cache instead of being fetched from the origin store.

A cache hit occurs when requested content is already available on a nearby CDN edge server. A cache miss occurs when the CDN must retrieve the content from its original storage location.

‍

A higher cache hit ratio generally improves performance and reduces bandwidth consumption. It can also lower cloud storage egress costs because fewer requests need to transfer data out of the origin store.
