    Article Summary

You can create buckets and folders, upload files, and delete buckets, folders, and files directly on your Android or iOS device.

In some instances, for full functionality you must use the web version.

    Create a Bucket

Bucket access defaults to private. You can change access permissions for this bucket in the Backblaze web UI.

You can enable Object Lock on your bucket. You can set your Object Lock retention settings for this bucket in the Backblaze web UI.

    1. Sign in to your Backblaze mobile app, and select B2 Files in the Browse tab.
    2. In the lower-right corner of the screen, tap the create bucket icon.
    3. Enter a unique name for your bucket.
    4. If applicable, select the checkbox to enable Object Lock.
    5. Tap Create a Bucket.

Create a Folder in a Bucket

    1. Sign in to your Backblaze mobile app.
    2. Select B2 Files, and navigate to the bucket that should contain the folder.
    3. In the lower-right corner of the screen, tap the + (add) icon.
    4. Select New Folder.
    5. Enter a name for your folder.
    6. Tap Add Folder.

Upload Files to a B2 Folder or Bucket

You can upload files up to 10 GB using the mobile app.

    1. Sign in to your Backblaze mobile app.
    2. Select B2 Files, and navigate to your destination bucket or folder.
    3. In the lower-right corner of the screen, tap the + (add) icon.
    4. Tap Upload Files (Android & iOS) or Upload Photo/Video (iOS), and select your items.
      Notes
Your specific photo or file applications may not allow you to select multiple files.

If this is your first upload using your mobile device, a message is displayed that indicates there may be charges associated with the storage or that you are not connected to a Wi-Fi network. Tap Upload to continue, or tap Cancel to return to the previous screen.
    5. On Android devices, tap the icon in the upper-right corner of the screen to view your uploaded files.

A status bar (Android) or a circle (iOS) is displayed that indicates the upload status. You can cancel queued and in-progress uploads. If a connection loss or timeout occurs, the application reattempts to upload your selected items. If the attempts fail, an option to upload again is displayed.

    Delete Buckets, Files, and Folders

You can delete up to 1,000 files at a time.

You can delete more than one folder or bucket, but you must first delete all of the files in the folder or bucket.

The iOS app is unable to complete deletions in the background, so you must leave the app open for them to complete. If the app is closed while a number of deletions are in progress, the app may be able to complete only a subset of the requested deletions. If an alert appears that indicates that you deleted more files than expected, verify that you selected Show Hidden Directories and Files in Settings.

    1. Sign in to your Backblaze mobile app, and navigate to the content you want to delete.
    2. Swipe your item, or enable multi-select and select the items you want to delete.
      1. On Android devices, select and hold the item.
      2. On iOS devices, tap Select in the upper-right corner of the screen.
    3. Tap DELETE (iOS), or tap the delete icon (Android).
    4. Tap Delete to confirm your action.

Your items are removed from the app. Alerts are displayed if the app is unable to remove your item.
