Resolve Delays Finding External Drives or New Files

When you create new files or change files on your computer or plug in an external drive that includes new or changed files, it may take up to two hours for Backblaze Computer Backup to schedule the files for online backup.

Trigger a Scan of Your Computer

If necessary, you can force Backblaze Computer Backup to make an immediate scan of your computer. Backblaze will begin an immediate system process to scan all of your drives for new or changed files. Backblaze does not recommend doing this often.

1. Open the Backblaze Client for your specific operating system.
   • Preferences (Mac).
   • Control Panel (Windows).
2. Hold down the Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows) key, and click Restore Options.
