        Backblaze Computer Backup runs several system processes on your computer that are required for various functions of the online backup software. These processes are required for proper operation.

        Note

        Computers that run macOS see these processes appear without an extension in Activity Monitor, and the files that are on the drive that is responsible for these macOS processes appear with the .plist extension.

        • bztransmit.exe
          Encrypts and transmits files.
        • bztransmit64.exe
          Encrypts and transmits files on 64-bit operating systems.
        • bzserv.exe
           Monitors for new and changed files.
        • bzbui.exe
          Powers the user interface. This process is found only on Windows.
        • bzfilelist.exe
          Generates overall drive analysis.
        • bzdoinstall.exe
          Manages the installation of automatic updates.
        • bzbmenu
          Mac client menu management process. This process is found only on macOS.
        • bztrans_thread00 ... bztrans_thread19
          Used to thread uploads so that multiple files or file chunks can be uploaded at the same time.
