    Create and Manage Caps and Alerts

    With Caps and Alerts, you can limit the charges that occur per day due to storage, downloads, or transaction usage.

    Set and Edit Data Caps

    Before you begin: You must create and enable a Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage account. You can sign up here. If you already have a Backblaze account and the left navigation menu contains a B2 Cloud Storage section, your account is already enabled for Backblaze B2.

    1. Sign in to your Backblaze account.
    2. In the left navigation menu under B2 Cloud Storage, click Caps & Alerts.
    3. Click Edit Caps.
    4. Clear the No Cap  checkbox, and enter a dollar amount for the maximum amount that you want to spend per day for each of the categories:
      • Storage
      • Download Bandwidth
      • Class B Transactions
      • Class C Transactions
    5. Click Update Caps.
    6. To edit your data cap amounts, click Edit Caps, change your dollar values, and click Update Caps.
    7. To remove your data cap, click Edit Caps, select No Cap, and click Update Caps.

    Changes may take up to 10 minutes.

    Set or Edit Data Cap Alerts

    Alerts are automatically sent when your account reaches 75% and 100% of its data cap. You can edit the amount for which you want to receive an alert.

    1. Sign in to your Backblaze account.
    2. In the left navigation menu under B2 Cloud Storage, click Caps & Alerts.
    3. For each category that you want to add or edit an alert, click (Edit).
    4. Enter the amounts for which you want an alert. 
    5. Click Update Alert.
    6. To remove alerts for any of the categories, clear the checkbox next to your email address.
