We&#8217;re looking for a seasoned Fixed Asset Accountant to help us with fixed assets and equipment leases.<\/p>\n<p><b>Job Duties:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain and review fixed assets.<\/li>\n<li>Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions.<\/li>\n<li>Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation.<\/li>\n<li>Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets.<\/li>\n<li>Investigate the potential obsolescence of fixed assets.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate with Operations team data center asset dispositions.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct periodic physical inventory counts of fixed assets. Work with Operations team on cycle counts.<\/li>\n<li>Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger.<\/li>\n<li>Track company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizations.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets, and assist the auditors in their inquiries.<\/li>\n<li>Recommend to management any updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets.<\/li>\n<li>Manage equipment leases.<\/li>\n<li>Overall control of original lease documentation and maintenance of master lease files.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate and track routing and execution of various lease related: agreements \u2014 documents\/forms\/lease documents.<\/li>\n<li>Establish and maintain proper controls to track expirations, renewal options, and all other critical dates.<\/li>\n<li>Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Qualifications:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>5-6 years relevant accounting experience.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of inventory and cycle counting preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Quickbooks, Excel, Word experience desired.<\/li>\n<li>Organized, with excellent attention to detail, meticulous, quick-learner.<\/li>\n<li>Good interpersonal skills and a team player.<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility and ability to adapt and wear different hats.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Backblaze Employees Have:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good attitude and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.<\/li>\n<li>Strong desire to work for a small, fast-paced company.<\/li>\n<li>Desire to learn and adapt to rapidly changing technologies and work environment.<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable with well-behaved pets in the office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This position is located in San Mateo, California.
