Backblaze Supports Mac OSX Snow Leopard








Does Backblaze work on Snow Leopard?
Yes. Backblaze works on Snow Leopard. We recommend that you select the "Upgrade" option when installing Snow Leopard. If you upgrade to Snow Leopard, you will not need to re-install Backblaze or re-upload data.

What will happen to Backblaze if I do a clean install?
If you decide to do a clean install of Snow Leopard and then Backblaze will behave as if it is installed on a new computer and begin backing up all your files again. You can prevent this by copying aside Backblaze files that store your computer's ID and then putting them back in place on your new Snow Leopard computer.

How do I prevent Backblaze from uploading all my files again if I do a clean install of Snow Leopard?

Will Backblaze work if I do a clean install and then restore from Time Machine?
Yes. Time Machine should restore the Backblaze files and folders to the correct location. Backblaze will not need to re-upload your data. We recommend that you re-run the Backblaze installer after restoring from Time Machine.

Will I need to re-launch the System Preferences?
The latest version (1.0.1.190) of Backblaze has 64-bit so you will not need to re-launch the System Preferences.
